back to reality!

After a week of kid free bliss enjoying the ocean waves, beautiful sunsets and margaritas, I'm back trying to get into the swing of things!!!

When I had a spare moment I finally got to finish watching the rest of the online watercolour for card makers videos! This card is one from the bonus day. I loved the technique and have tried a few different combos with the limited distress inks I have!!

For the background of this card I scored some random lines to give a plaid kind of look (loved that idea from the video) then I put down a few colours of distress ink on my mat spritzed it with water and placed the water colour paper on it moving it from side to side a little to get the colour everywhere. I didn't do any touch ups on it. just let it dried, stared at it for al one while not liking it, came back to it today and put this creation together!

Hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by!!

cutting room floor

This was "on the cutting room floor" if you want to call it that! I had put it together with some scrap paper I had inked on…and I just didn't feel it flowing so I put it aside. Today I picked it up again, looked at it and thought it would make a cute birthday card for my of my boys friends birthday he is attending today!

I found some old Stampin Up! paper that had a good match to the purple ink on the card and thats when I knew I could finish it! In the background on the purple (might be hard to tell in the photo) I did a little shimmer misting with the hexagon stencil. Just needed a little touch to not be so bland but I didn't want to take away from all the detail on the front portion. For the front part I added embossing paste over top the inked paper, added the sentiment then the ribbon…and today after weeks of just sitting there I decided I didn't hate it anymore!!

I guess it was good I decided to keep this one laying around instead of just tossing it like I do with so many other  cards that I think don't work!!

Hope you all have a great Friday! Thanks for stopping by!

mothers day stencil

Since my may Simon Says card kit arrived with the distress ink and blender I've been trying out stuff! I pulled out this Heidi Swapp stencil (again, used it in another mothers day card with embossing paste) and just starting inking! I love how bold and eye catching it is!!

Hope you are all having a great day and wonderful week!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

old meets new

I was given a challenge from one of my good friend Natasha's (check her blog out here) fiancĂ©. He comes up with some pretty interesting ones, but this one I decided to join in on the fun!! It is the oldest with the newest stamp set. I'm pretty sure I no longer have my oldest stamp set, not even sure what that might be. But I certainly do remember buying the one I used in this card (happy everything). It was a very big decision for me. I didn't' want to just buy any old stamp had to be something I knew would be very versatile! And looks like it still has it!!

I had a few new stamp sets join my collection in the recent weeks but this set (so very grateful) was the perfect one to go with the sentiment!!

I'm very happy with how it turned out!! So soft and gentle!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

PPA202

Good day everyone! Hope you are well!! This card is brought to you today by Pals Paper Arts, I saw a lot of cards using this colour combo and it caught my eye so I thought I would give it a whirl!!!

It was a fairly quick card to make, other than the colouring in of course, which I used with my blender pens!

Thanks for stopping by!

all boy

I received my May Simon Says Stamp card kit on Friday and decided to pull it out and play!! I'm not the best at masculine cards as I much prefer flowers but this kit makes you dig deep for that masculine creation!! I used this weeks Clean and Simple sketch to get the creativity flowing!!

In this card kit came a distress ink (which is the only thing I didn't use from the kit, used a green distress ink from my stash) and the blender tool. I know I'm behind the 8 ball on this one but its seriously my new favourite tool!!! Go now and get one!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
